Safety

IBC is actively involved in creating and maintaining a safe work environment for all its employees. Each laboratory group has a representative on the Safety Committee. The Safety Committee meets a minimum of six times a year.  All matters relating to safety should be reported immediately to your Principal Investigator, to your safety committee representative, or to Mike Mortimer, the IBC Safety Committee chairperson. Your safety committee representative will advise you on the safety procedures you should follow at work.

On initiating employment at IBC, new employees receive safety orientation, personal protective equipment training, and hazardous waste training and handling certification. Employees also receive safety procedures for the department and their lab group.
